Installation and removal

Installation

To install the AutoConnect™ Mower Deck, the following steps are required.

  1. Make sure the deck is on a firm level surface and gauge wheels are in the unlocked position.
  2. Align inside of left front tire with the vertical wall on the drive over ramp on the mower.
  3. Slowly drive tractor straight over the deck making sure forward link aligns with brackets on the tractor.
  4. Go forward until mower begins to pull along and clicks twice.
  5. Lift mower deck.
  6. Use quick-release pins to lock gauge wheels in place.
  7. On 3R Series tractors, set height-of-cut (HOC) bracket to desired cutting position.
    1. For 2R Series Tractors, use the CommandCut™ controls to set the HOC and lower the mower deck to the desired position.

Removal

To remove the AutoConnect Mower Deck, the following steps are required.

  1. Park machine on a level surface.
  2. Raise deck to transport position
  3. Release gauge wheel locks
  4. On 3R Series Tractors, remove pin from HOC bracket.
  5. Lower deck to the lowest or install position. Release lock brackets by pushing them forward in direction of arrow.
    1. NOTE: Remove transport locking pins if installed in the transport position
  6. Be sure the tractor transmission is in low range with four-wheel drive engaged.
  7. Slowly back tractor straight off mower deck.
  8. Please refer to the operator's manual for complete details.

NOTE: 3R Series Tractors equipped with PowrReverser™ transmission (PRT) do not have mid-power take-off (PTO) option, therefore are not compatible with mid-mount mowers.

3000 TWENTY Tractors equipped with PRT (serial numbers ending with 910000 and above) are not compatible with mid-mount mowers (for grooming).

All hydrostatic transmission (HST) tractors with serial numbers ending with 910000 (open operator station [OOS]) /940000 (cab) and above have reverse implement option (RIO) functionality.

Model Year 2017 and newer 2032R and 2038R Tractors are equipped with reverse implement option (RIO) functionality.

Mid-mower lift system (3120 - 3720 and 3R Tractors)

he hydraulic independent lift system-of-cut system allows the mower to be raised and lowered independently of the rear implements. It can use either the dual selective control valve (SCV) (loader joystick) or third SCV (optional) to lift mower deck.

The forward lift link is installed on the deck. It is spring loaded, allowing the link to connect automatically to front hangers (installed on tractor).

The PTO-drive shaft design allows the shaft to automatically adjust as the female end of the PTO coupler engage with the male end of the gearbox coupler. The male end coupler has tapered guides to ensure engagement of both ends.

Compatible with front/rear implements

AutoConnect™ Decks are compatible with rear 3-point hitch attachments, backhoes, loaders, and a front hitch. The operator can keep these extra implements attached to the tractor while mowing, if desired.

3R and 3000 TWENTY Series Tractors are equipped with a dual mid SCV as standard equipment. The mid-mower hydraulic lift can use the dual SCV (loader joystick), or third SCV (optional), to lift the mower deck, giving maximum flexibility.

NOTE: For 3R Series Tractors, additional brackets are required for use with a front 3-point hitch and an AutoConnect Mid-Mount Mower in order to leave the front 3-point hitch on with a mid-mower deck. See LVB25820 front 3-point hitch/mid-mount brackets.

For use with a front 3-point hitch and an old 154.4-cm (60-in.) or 182.9-cm (72-in.) 7-Iron™ Mid-Mount Mower on 3033R-3046R and 3120-3720 Tractors, LVB24810 front 3-point hitch/mid-mount mower draft arms are required.

3R Series Tractors equipped with PowrReverser™ transmission (PRT) do not have mid-PTO option, therefore are not compatible with mid-mount mowers.

3000 TWENTY Tractors equipped with PRT (serial numbers ending with 910000 and above) are not compatible with mid-mount mowers (for grooming). All hydrostatic transmission (HST) tractors with serial numbers ending with 910000 (open operator station [OOS])/940000 (cab) and above have reverse implement option (RIO).

All model year 2017 and newer 2032R and 2038R Tractors are equipped with reverse implement option (RIO) functionality

Mid-power take-off (PTO) driven

Mowers are driven by the tractor's mid PTO, providing the following advantages:

  • Rear PTO remains free to operate rear-mounted implements
  • Shaft drive - no belts used to drive the mower
  • Faster and easier deck installation than other drive mechanisms

NOTE: To use the mid PTO for other front-mounted attachments, the operator will need to remove the quick-connect drive shaft and rear lift link by disconnecting the drive shaft and removing a couple of bolts.

3R Series Tractors equipped with PowrReverser™ transmission do not have mid PTO option, therefore are not compatible with mid-mount mowers.

3000 TWENTY Tractors equipped with PowrReverser transmission (serial numbers ending with 910000 and above) are not compatible with mid-mount mowers (for grooming).

All hydrostatic transmission (HST) tractors with serial numbers ending with 910000 (open operator station [OOS])/940000 (cab) and above have reverse implement option (RIO).

All model year 2017 and newer 2032R and 2038R Tractors are equipped with RIO functionality

Mower height adjustment

The height-of-cut (HOC) adjustment bracket starts at 3.8 cm (1.5 in.), with 1.3-cm (1/2-in.) increments. To adjust the HOC bracket, raise the deck, slide the pin out, slide bracket in or out to the desired position, and secure pin in place. The deck will mow to the set height.

To transport, pull HOC link fully forward and install the pin in either of last two holes to secure link in the highest position. It is recommended to use the last two holes for transport only.

NOTE: Before removing deck, ensure that the HOC bracket can move freely by removing the height lock pin.

Service and durability

These mowers are designed with many serviceability and durability features. Some of these features are:

  • Drive-over ramps can be easily removed via bolts for belt service.
  • Blade spindles are greaseable to increase bearing life
  • Front lip and trim side of deck are reinforced for added strength
  • Plastic chute guards on the 154.4-cm (60-in.) 7-Iron™ Mowers, and 182.9-cm (72-in.) 7-Iron Mower Decks
